Big data journalism

The avaliability of big data sets, such as tax records, the stockholder registry, property transfers and map data are steadily improving. Most journalists, however, depend heavily on computer programmers and technical staff to analyze this new kind of source material.

This course aims at giving journalists the knowledge to dive into the wonderful world of database journalism. You’ll get introduced to some common database tools, and how to utilize them in your research and storytelling.
